CES Ontario Supports New Practitioners and Students Entering Evaluation

As your professional association, we understand the challenges of beginning a new career. If you are a student, a recent graduate, making a career change, or perhaps starting to learn about evaluation in your job, you will likely have a lot of questions.

We’ve heard you and we’ve done it.

CES Ontario now offers two special memberships for people new to evaluation.

The first is our Student Membership, which is open to current full-time students of any degree or diploma program. Student membership costs just $95.00 annually, less than half-price of a full individual membership.

The second is the New Practitioner Pilot Program, which is open to any new or renewing Ontario member who has graduated from a degree or diploma program in the last two years. New Practitioner Pilot Program Membership costs just $110.00, a discount of $85.00 or 44% of the full individual membership.

Both memberships offer plenty of perks, including discounts on chapter-run professional development programming, special networking and learning events aimed at new evaluators, and the opportunity to serve as a committee member or director of the CES Ontario board of directors.

Getting started

Apply for membership. New or renewing Student members can use the Canadian Evaluation Society’s online membership application form. New or renewing New Practitioner members should contact Kaitlyn at admin@evaluationontario.ca for instructions.

Take a workshop. CES Ontario offers a variety of professional development trainings throughout the year. New evaluators are encouraged to attend the Essential Skills Series course, a four-day foundational training that provides a thorough understanding of evaluation terms, practices, and techniques. Other advanced workshops are also available.

Attend an event. CES Ontario hosts workshops, panel discussions, and networking events aimed at students and new practitioners of evaluation. Check our Event Listings for upcoming events, or attend EvalCafe, sponsored by CES Ontario.
